The floating chinese resaurant is good near central station (in the water beleive it or not!)
There is a itailian resaurant called La Madonna which is off the Damrak. Cant remember the name of the street but its on the same road as the Pink Floyd coffeeshop (possible now been changed to another Damprink place (spelling) and 1 of the Greenhouse chain of coffee shops. Thisnk the road starts with a Haarstradt or Haarsplien or something like that. There are some OK resaurants on the Damrak but generally are a little more pricey (not better just more expensive) but still decent value.
Enjoy your trip.

An Indian restaurant called Shiva. Was there a couple of years ago and the food was fantastic, not expensive either. It's near the floating flower market.

for lunch, go to the top of warmoesstraat. right at the very top there's crossroads with 2 chinese restaurants side by side that look like greasy spoon diners. go in the one on the left, not the one on the corner. food comes very quickly, there's plenty of it, its tasty and its cheap. not high cuising by any standard, but its rammed with orientals having lunch. you can fill 2 people with food and beers for 10-15euro, which is ridiculously cheap for centraal.
i recommend the pork special and the wonton soup.

I second that. My friend lives in Utrecht and is good friends with David. I was taken there one night and had a great meal - huge plate of antipasti followed by a fabulous dish of wild boar
David is italian btw. Looks like a fat David Ginola.
