3.5 V8 buying advice

About to purchase a 3.5 V8 (1985)defender are there any tips or advise? what are people's experinece with this engine. I have tried to look up problems on Google but not really getting anything that would ring alarm bells.

Make sure it hasnt got any top end rattle. If it has then it would lead to poor oil changes. Other than that a very robust engine. If looked after and had frequent oil changes then you can get 150,000-200,000mls before any major engine work.i.e new cams lifters and followers.
