Just having a look on ebay at Ferrari stuff and I came across this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ferrari-F355-355-Switch-Swit...

How bad condition would your one need to be that you would think "Yea, i think I'll replace mine with that"

Pah, bit of fairy liquid sorts that one right out... wink

I assmue that pic's been taken with a flasher - not very clever, I'd at least have had a squirt of WD40 and a quick rub with a cloth over it before taking that pic, too. Even rubbish parts can scrub up nicely enough for an ebay pic if you can be *rsed (although I probably have to commend the seller for being this 'honest' - after that pic you're unlikely to be disappointed when the part arrives...

It's a common trick by ebay car breakers.
They put up a single part make it overpriced so it doesn't sell, and will therefore run for the whole length of the auction, but they happen to mention in the listing that they are breaking an entire car, and handily leave their phone number.

Those guys look quite good it must be said. Is there a similar company in the UK that does what they do?

Not that I know of. Some guys have done it themselves, but I sent a few bits to stickynomore and they did a really good job. The guy who runs it is well known in the 348/355 section on fchat.

I've been to see these guys. Drove from Sussex to Birmingham to see a 355F1 engine from a car which had had a minor fire in the passenger compartment. I took some pics.... Cam covers removed and full of dust from the adjacent bodyshop. Thats why it's that grey colour.

Engine was sat looking like this. He was "doing a deal" at £6k for the engine. I offered himn a grand and left empty handed. The car they had was a true wreck rather than just salvage.
