TVR friendly MOT in Reading (or nearish)?

Can anyone recommend a Griffith friendly MOT test centre in Reading? Or am I better off looking a bit further afield and going for a bit of a blat? (Can't really take a day off though).

I get mine done at the place Racing Green use, about 50 yards away from them in Ash Vale, about 25 miles from Reading, any good?

I used the Reading drive in place by Wickes last year (last minute!)

I sat and watched them and they were fine (one guy knew his TVRs) until the brake test when they did it on the road behind (under my watchful eye - the didn’t want to put an LSD car on their roller brake test).

Unfortunately the nugget in the pass seat then opened my door onto another car right in front of me - grrrrr....

I need to go to RG anyway so intend to use their MOT place - if your going their let me know - could convoy it!

Another Reading TVR - what do you have? I ran past a place with a Cerb in the drive way right by the University last night.

I'm in a turquoise mk 1 Tuscan.

My mechanic puts my wedge through a place in Shiplake, with no problems at all. Think it's called Shiplake Motors.

Prince Brothers in Twyford have always been very fair with my S3 (and my other cars for that matter).

StanRod motors in Pangbourne opposite the station. They MOT several TVR's including my V8S.

They also do some of the more exotic stuff from Broughtons so they're used to specialist stuff. When I was there for my MOT in April they had just had a day which started with a 2CV and ended with a Gallardo (which the chap had driven up to them from Spain).

They're very thorough but very fair. They just do MOT's so no spurious advisories, are happy for you to have a poke about underneath whilst the car's on the ramp and give some good advice on those "little jobs that might be worth doing..."

Speak to Vixpy1, I had my chim done yesterday. Passed with flying colours. I'm in Purley, west reading and it was nice and convienient.
