Thought I'd fire these 2 pics up to show the difference in the same location (in this instance Bagh Bhatarsaigh on the Isle of Vatersay which is found South of Barra)...

The sky was covered in grey cloud and misty rain filled the air around us when we arrived, but I was determined not to move until it passed - I decided the waiting limit would be 1 hour, at which time we would move on if it hadn't lifted.

Here's the original image taken at 11:59am this morning:-

And here you have a shot 48 minutes later in almost the exact same position - just look at the difference the sunlight hitting the water and sand makes to the image in general.

The colours that it brings out in the water are unreal in this particular location, so I thought I'd show you the before and after pics to help emphasise why patience is a big key when you're trying to shoot landscapes around the world in changing weather conditions.

ETA - Both images are straight from cam, only resized to 1280px tall in PS, nothing else touched...

Or you could just have HDR'd the first one and spent 48 happy minutes scoffing tea and buns at the local caff biggrin
