Farnell tend to be the cheapest, and they have free delivery (although possibly not the first time). Downside is that they're in Leeds, so if you want to pop in and visit, you need to be local.
RS have more trade counters around the country, but not as many as Maplin. Maplin's stock is a bit limited, and variable.
If you need a regular, quality supply, then Farnell and RS are the ones to go for. But if it's just odds and ends, then Maplins.
(I've not tried Rapid yet).

Excellent thanks guys, I'm looking for more smaller orders/hobby type stuff so from what I can gather in the quantities I want Farnell looks about right. Although I'll keep rswww in mind as they seem to have a mega range.
Don't Farnell own CPC as sort of a consumer / hobby brand, might be worth giving them a look as you may need to be trade / VAT registered for Farnell. Of course you may not I have never used them outside of trade!Ben
CPC for everyday stuff and spares for domestic goods.
Farnell for a wider range.
RS if you're feeling rich.
Grandata if you only want one or two things because they only charge a quid for postage. They are also quite good for obscure chips and transistors that turn up in oriental kit but aren't in anyone else's catalogue. They are s
t at maintaining stock though so you more or less have to phone to make sure they've got it.

Yes, CPC are part of Farnell - but you do not need to be trade/VAT registered for Farnell at all (I'm not).Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
