Spider wheel conversion.
Discussion
Just done the conversion myself, excellent! The delivery may be getting better, there have been many problems with worn exchange parts. 2 rebuilt hub flanges were too loose when Neill pressed them into the carrier bearings (he had accepted these as usable exchange parts) so more new bearings and try another 2 flanges - glad I took my uprights to be rebuilt - only 2 hours labour. Neill is looking at increasing the cost and sourcing more new parts (about £200 more I think) to alleviate the exchange / machining delays / problems. The kit is comprehensive - excellent value.
You will need ventillated rear disks (thicker than early solid disks) to do the upgrade (the calipers are different - not sure about the mounting ears) I just bought a set of rear uprights & brakes complete from Douglas Valley.
Its taken me about a week to fit everything, but I have painted all parts, fitted new tubular upper wishbones, poly bushes, U/Js, B/Js, engine mounts and a lot of chassis needle scaling + painting. (Damn now I have to wait till Sat to get all wheels pointing the right way!)
BTW projects like this make you realise why Joolz is so good - he copper slips everything - previous Main Dealers definitely had not done this!
