A3 2003 pollen filter
Discussion
My brother has a A3 2003 with nasty smelling air con. So, we've got a new pollen filter to change. Problem is, we can't find where it goes.
Every guide online says either behind the glove box or behind the firewall under the bonnet. 2 hours of taking apart the dash and firewall and its no where to be seen!
We got to the aircon fan, but no where a filter could go.
Any advise?

Thanks for the advice guys.
We've had both sides of the scuttle panel out and its not there. We can see the fan, and when you start the AC a shield covered the fan and it starts going mad.
We've also taken the whole glove box out, and all we can see is the fan, no panels where the pollen filter would fit!
Is there any chance it doesnt actually have one?
Just for reference its this shape (but obviously a right hooker:

Yes it will have a pollen filter.
Lay down under the glovebox and to the rear of it will be a foam trim held on by 3 plastic screws. Remove these screws and pull down the trim. There will then be a black rectangular plastic trim directly above where the foam trim was. Slide this open and the pollen filter is inside.

Its been said on here three times but I will confirm if there is any doubt, having changed a few thousand of these.
You dont need to open the bonnet the filters in the car.
You dont need to take the glovebox out.
There is a thin Grey piece of trim, its sort of like foam, between the bottom of the glove box and the bulkhead carpet, this if its still there need to be removed.
Then you are looking for a rectangle shaped black plastic panel, about the same size as the edge of the pollen filter. This panel slide out of the way and then the pollen filter can be pulled down out of its housing and the new one push up in there, and the access panel slides back in.
