Hi Guys just looking for a bit of advice. My other halfs 2001 X5 4.4 has started firing a CEL with fault code P0170 lean mixture left bank. I was only able to read the code with a cheap generic code reader I have as I have problems connecting my scan soft BMW reader through an OBDII (bought it for my e39 528 with obd1) There are no other codes to indicate faulty 02 sensors or any other problems. I cleared the code a week or so ago, but now it has come back accompanied by an occasional misfire(no misfire code but not sure if the reader would show this)

Could this be a Coil pack issue? I have already had problems with two of the coils requiring replacement around 6 months ago, would another one or two going bad cause this fault code or am I looking Air/Fuel related only? Thanks

Thanks for the response. Would an air leak show up as only a lean misfire on one bank of the V8? will check out the hoses from MAF back and see if I can find any leaks. Fingers crossed as it would be an easy fix!
