Help, has anybody come across this problem.
My remote boot release and dashboard button won't work (6.0 vxr 07)- it sounds like its working but just won't release- fortunately it will open manually the other way from inside - so i can still use it.
I'm still under warranty but since Greens closed its a long way to go to get it diagnosed and then return to get it fixed. Is it something simple or main dealer fix???

cheers

You need to adjust the rubber closers so they push against the mechanism, its a common complaint.
Get someone to lift the boot up when you `buzz` it then slightly unwind the rubber pads ( think thats right, working from memory here)

Either that or the cable has snapped - another common fault.

yes
spin them out a turn or so as they flatten overtime and don't spring the boot open as they should.......

Had the same problen, It was the release mechanism I seem to remeber. Took it too the the fishmongers along with a complaints list as long as my arm. Sorted it out a treat.

Been there.

Try the emergency release. If that works, its probably the cable between the actuator and the lock.

At the end of the day it's a lump of solder at the end of a wire. Between the actuator and the very simple lock mechanism.

You can replace the whole mechanism or fix it yourself.

When you get down to it, the emergency release cable isn't that robust either, but lasts longer because its rarely used.
