I don't know what it is about the Les Paul guitar but I must own one at some point in my life, even though I know I would never use even half of its potential.

I used to have the most wonderful Gibson Les Paul "Sonex".

I can't believe I traded it in for a lousy Washburn: idiot.

I've wanted another ever since, despite being a Stratocaster man.

RIP, Les: A real "Guitar Hero".

Keep an eye on BBC4. About a year ago they had a Les Paul night of documentaries, which are sure to be wheeled out again very shortly.

I plugged a hole in the 'between Xmas and New Year' boredom last year by trying to get back to learning the guitar, after 20 years of not playing. I went to our local music shop and I knew before I got there, there was only one guigar I wanted; the Les Paul...

The man is a legend. RIP

I washed vans every weekend for 2 years when I was about 16 to save up the £699 then required to buy a new Tobacco Sunburst Standard.

Sold it a few years later to go on a lads holiday, holiday was great but I regretted selling it the moment the guy drove off with it.

A few years later I got an exact replacement.
