Live ignition fed feed in engine bay

Would it be ok to feed a live from the windscreen washer pump to power a relay i.e. to switch it on, not to feed it the power, this is coming from the battery.

The relay is going to power another fan, I need an ignition controlled live to "switch" the relay, the power will first go to the fan controller, and then to the relay to switch it on. The 12v power for the fan will be coming direct, via a fused link to the battery.

On my precat, I have just wired two fans together(spal, cant remember the part number) and it has been running like this for a couple of years without problem.

Another switched ign supply would be at the coil, but not 100% this is ideal.

To be honest if you are going to wire as far as the wiper motor , it isn't much further into the cockpit where there are better choices of switched ign supplies.

Well if you are running two fans off the original wiring for a single fan with no problem then i should be ok to tap into the fan positive feed to switch the relay on, as this will surely be less load?
