Typical, car works like a dream too and from work for months and i get a few days off for Christmas and the oil pressure light comes on at tickover,so i dont want to drive it until a diagnosis is done on the possibles.

I've searched the forums and want to start with the pressure relief valve first and was wondering if anyone could give me an idea as to what to look out for etc in stripping and cleaning it

many thanks and Happy Christmas

Don't know the ins and outs of Griff ones especially, but just replace it as they are only a few quid. Over time they can snap (obvious) or just loose some of there 'springiness' (less obvious unless you have something to compare to).

Page 41 in the bible has pictures of both serp and preserp oil pump springs. The main thing is to get the correct ones as ther are not interchangeable. Undo retaining cap and the spring should come out.
