XType Retrofit Reverse Park Aid

I visited the dealer close to where I work today to get some overmats and while I was there I asked about buying the bits to retrofit reverse park aid into my 2006 XType sport estate.
I nearly died at £400 labour and close on the same for parts.
He said there is no wiring in my car for it to plug into so its a real pig of a job requiring a new loom as well as the sensors etc and tried to sell me an aftermarket kit for £160+VAT which wires in to my reverse lights
Is it true there is nothing in the loom, so I can't just buy the module, speaker and sensors - I already have the black undertray with blanking plugs

the loom mentioned runs behind the bumper then upto the ecu,
IIRC the wiring for the buzzer part is already on the car, but is situated under the rear parcel shelf on a saloon.
I think its a bumper off job to do as per factory, but with a little rerouting time can be saved
its not a difficult job to retro fit the kit yourself.
