I went years ago when I was a loon!
Worked in that area for a while too (Maastricht) Fly to Charlois or Aachen get a hire car and you won't go far wrong.

I am trying to talk Mrs Tosser into going to Spa, we have just bought a motorhome and she is a little reluctant to take it over the water until we have figured out all its idiosycracies, she is the cautious type.

So in case I can talk her into it I will be interested to see other people's hints and tips, and recommendations for a place to camp in the motorhome could be useful.

Murray,
Tell her Spa is only just over the water!! Can't remember how long it used to take us to drive from Maastricht to Calais but remember getting up very late some mornings and still being home in Northampton for my supper!!

Could tell you hotels in Maastricht but never was a pikey wink so no idea about camp sites....

I looked at the map and it is only about an inch from ZeBrugge to Spa wink

Or 200miles(ish) so even with our new pikeymobile it is not very far, still trying to persuade her though, not much success so far but will keep trying, otherpeople have offered to take her place but that might not be prudent if I want to keep all my bits that I have grown attached to. biggrin

Having trouble finding who flys to Charlois & Aachen, And from where, Apparently nowhere in UK to Aachan and that I am finding hard to believe.

RyanAir go to Charlios from Prestwick but only wed morning avail.

Getting to Standstead from Aberdeen is even more hassle than getting to Spa. looking at Aberdeen - Amsterdam - Rail to Leige (19 trains daily) then ???

did the ferry accross a couple of years ago to goto the spa classic, was a nice relaxing trip by car. Quick jaunt to queensferry, over night piss up on the boat listening to the most horrific singer to grace a stage since celine dion then a 3hr drive through belgium to spa.

Hire car from Liege or I would guess some sort of rail link set up? Ryanair fly to Frankfurt Hahne which isn't too far away but not sure if they fly from Prestwick or Edinburgh to there.

Have you checked out Page and Moy pick up points?
