Anyone heard about the fact that now women can inseminate themselves with artificial sperm, eliminating the need for men completely?

I find it worrying...

Had lunch with mates on the weekend - they have two boys. the Dad works like and idiot and is never home, sees the boys one day a week. Result - biggest bunch of poofs, whinging, whiney, pansey... Dad time is important.

Now doubt fat swampthing benefits hunters will do this. Even scarier is predator women who get themselves pregnant, claim it was you and sting you for CSA...

I'm going to chop off my balls... like a boss

1) It's illegal
2) They've only produced lab animals with the artificial sperm so far
3) Wait until you see the results of the early years of such a technology: birth defects, health problems etc

Never going to happen.

Does this mean they will claim the CSA payments directly off the government?

I still find it weird that if you donate sperm for whatever reason, if used and the woman finds out the details the CSA can chase you for payments for a kid with a person you have never met.

Some of the stories on here are frightening

Indeed, but which half would you rather have? Top half baster? it's a whole new thread in itself.

Are you saying the OP might be slightly over reacting here?

Indeed. For the purposes of clarity and the avoidance of doubt: Worrying about technologies that are unlikely to ever be fully developed and even more unlikely to ever work would seem to me to be a bit of an over-reaction. yes

Since when do you have the right to decide that for the child that isnt yours?
I would say the dad doesn't need to be biological at all.

The child you raise will be how you raise them, nothing to do with genes.
