A lot of bikes on the road today?

Cycled in this morning and usually I'm pretty much alone in doing so around here, but not today. I caught a split second of something on the news about a cycle to work day or something, but assumed that was just central London?

Think Cycle to Work day was back in June which I nearly always miss as it clashes with Le Mans (the ACO need to sort this out!!!!). London may be different though. I rode in today as it was a lovely morning, I managed to get out of bed early enough and because I borrowed my sons racer rather than use my mtb. I now feel beaten up by bumps, potholes and changes of road surface that don't register on 26" wheels and suspension forks but got to work in record time. That damn thing is fast......

London Cycle campaign have a few Friday rides planned, today's was one of theirs.
I think they do convoys from various locations.

Marvelous - as if commuting into London isn't dangerous enough at time, we'll now have whole chains of people with no clue riding together...
They'd be better off offering free road awareness courses for people! - The number of people I see on the daily commute with shopping hanging off of their handle bars / on the phone / with no helmet....... GRRRR - that really winds me up!
