I know that the prodcut I use carries the "not a real detailer" tag, but I admit to not being a detailer, just a driver who likes a good presentation.

However after using AutoGlym prodcuts and reading this site I bought some Wax. Not the expensice stuff as I can't justify it, (Autoglym Aqua Wax) but I need help in working out at which stage to apply it, and have I bought the right stuff?

I have and use in the current order, but can't figure out at which stage to apply the wax to give the highest gloss sheen. Is it 2 or 5.

1. Wash Wax shampoo
2. Autoglym Super Resin Polish
3. Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection

Alos, is Autoglym Instant Show Shine any good/better than gloss protection?

Hi

If that's all you have, then the order you have posted is correct.

The show shine is not as good as the Extra Gloss Protection, neither is it designed to be. It's more a quick fix type of product to give a shine where as the Extra Gloss Protection will protect your paintwork for a far longer period of time.

Elite

Thanks for the clarification. However when should I apply the Aqua Wax?

The AquaWax is designed to be sprayed directly onto a wet car (after washing) and then used as a drying aid. Spray the AquaWax on the car when wet and then dry it with a microfibre towel and buff as you go.

I saw this product being used at a Ferrari specialist last week and despite my normal anal approach to car cleaning/ detailing, I was frankly astonished at the finish it gave. Didn't hide swirl marks obviously but gave a lovely glow to the Red 575M it was used on.

As Elite says, showshine is a quick fix product. It is also basically silicone in a can - AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE !!!

Cheers - Nico
