E60 or E90 sport tourer - where to look?

Hi all
I am after the above (either a 2.0 or greater diesel, or 2.5 or greater petrol) - preferably manual - for a sensible price (ideally with trade in and possibly low rate finance for some of the cost).
Depending on my trade in value, I want something under about £15k - anyone any ideas on good indys / dealers to try?
Am I better of trying to shift my car privately then do a cash / finance type deal?
Auctions worth a try for a higher mile ex-rep car?
