I like the look of a Seiko watch I found on the Net, but I can only find it for sale in the USA. Its code is SGF719.

Does anyone know where I could buy it in the UK?

2. Copy and paste the following text into the search box
seiko SGF719 site:.uk

3. Click the 'search' button

Hi,

There is no need for the condescending reply. If you followed your own advice you would have seen that it doesn't bring up any UK sellers. That is why I asked on here: to see if anyone knows where I can buy that watch. I'm guessing that there must be companies who import Seiko's foreign models; I've seen some of the Seiko diving watches mentioned on here quite a few times and I don't think they're officially sold in the UK.

Unfortunately a lot of the nice Seiko's are not sold in the UK. The only suggestion I have is to buy one from Ebay.co.uk through paypal or Ebay.com as they have more choice usually and will normally ship to UK if you ask - this won't show on an Ebay UK search if the foreign seller doesn't advertise shipping to the UK on their advert.

Amazon.co.uk sometimes have them if you search as the codes are sometimes slightly different but the pictures are the same.

This may be me being stupid, but I have managed to find it on Amazon.com.

Can they deliver to the UK? I have never bought anything off Amazon before, but if you can here is the link

Nice watch by the way, excellent value

My experience with Amazon.com is you get to the stage of putting your details in and a box appears saying not available to the UK.

This is very similar

there are a couple of "hosting" companies who will essentially give you a US address for a small fee, the stuff gets shipped to them who ship it to you. I cant recall the names but do a google search. From what I read in the telegraph they seemed to offer good service, Im lucky as I can have stuff shipped to a mate over there. dont forget to add duty and vat to the prices though, its lucky to get stuff through unoticed these days, ive even been hit with a bill by DHL for more than a tenner for paying duty less than a quid on some stuff from the States. But if you add these up plus shipping and its still a good deal then go for it.

Is this close enough? It's on Amazon UK.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

CommanderJameson: Thank you for finding that. It's pretty much what I want but the bracelet on that one is a bit too chintzy for me.

There's one being sold from Hong Kong on the American eBay website so I'll probably see if they would send to the UK.

It doesn't have to be that watch, but it's almost the only one I've found in the style I want (plain steel bracelet, plain steel case and plain black face) that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

SamHH: if your budget will stretch to a few more pounds, then have a look at the Quartz section of Seiya Japan. Seiya is a trusted, well-thought-of supplier of interesting Japan-only Seiko watches.

Thanks for the link. There are some very nice looking watches on there. Unfortunately all way too expensive for me though; I'm not a watch aficionado, I just want something that looks nice, tells the time and doesn't break.

Tells the time, you say?

Doesn't break, you say?

Don't want to spend too much money, you say?

Is sir interested in a nice Skagen quartz?

A colleague has one of these (not that colour, though) and he's very pleased with it.

This company ships to the UK, and you could always change the strap.

The only trouble with Seiya is his prices.... WAY higher than everywhere else.

For example, Seiya sell the G-Shock GW-9010-1ER Mudman "Rally" (Solar/atomic) for $229us. That converts at the moment to £138.47. And as he is outside of the UK you are risking customs charges on top of that.

Tiktox sell the exact same watch for £98.54 including shipping from within the UK (often next day depending on when you order)

I've never known Seiya to be any different, when I was looking for my Seiko Monster he weas charging around $300us for them... I ended up paying £96 by looking elsewhere.

Thanks again for all the suggestions. I've ignored them though and bought one of these on the Web:

A bit late, then, but I saw a Seiko I really liked and couldn't find it in the UK either. Ended up ordering it from a seller in Singapore. I had to pay duty though when it came into the UK. Could have avoided this if they'd stamped "gift" on the box.

No, but I probably should have; I paid £15 more than that went for. Ho hum. The one I bought has got the name SNX115 but like you say it looks the same.

Arrived today. Seems pretty good. I would have prefered a watch without the date display but otherwise it's just what I wanted.
