I am as anally retentive as the next TVR owner nerd ! But I have just had to buy 2 new indicator lenses . Rather than messing about trying to find Sherpa replacements at sensible money I have had 2 of the KIA lenses fitted . They are absolutely fine..... do not mess about.... they do the job perfectly.

.. however if someone wants originality and they are willing to pay for whatever the lenses go for, through their own free will , who are you to tell them otherwise?

I can't be the only person to spot the irony of someone in the property game making money from over inflated pricing wink

Market forces and all that .. let it be smile

I am not TELLING anyone anything , just sharing my thoughts that the KIA units are a very acceptable alternative , particulaurly if you cannot use the car because the damaged lens is showing white , will not pass a MOT which means it cannot be used ......Lighten up Pal ! ( no pun intended )

It would be easy enough to get replacement lens made and they would sell for just a few quid!!! BUT the tooling costs would be in the order of £8k.

There are approx 275 S Series cars registered on here if we all had three lens (one as a spare) 800 lenss unit cost would be down to less than £15 per lens.

Anyone up for it?

I am very light.
Just read your servicing thread too, that's a shame.

Too many of us have made other lenses fit to want the Sherpa's back - me included:

I had the impression the alternatives being suggested were generally smaller than the originals and leave the bumper rubbers exposed, but those ones seem to fit just like the originals. Are they Kia?

No not Kia. I bought a brand new set of indicators for a Nissan D21 to try. It had been suggested that they look very similar to the Terrano II units that fit no bother. Unfortunately the D21's indicators are slightly wider than the hole in the bumper - out came the powerfile and the result looks great in my opinion.
I honestly prefer these shallower clear units to the big orange Sherpas indicators. I have bought the clear fronted headlights too so hopefully it will all work well.

Interesting, what did the Nissan D21 indicators cost and do you know if they would be legal to fit in EU countries?

Hi,
I have to assume they are legal in EU countries as the D21 is sold in the EU? They dont throw a beam and seem to work well.
Paid about £12.99 for the pair new see item 130259951512.
Here is a better pic:
