Going to Tenerife next week for a week with the Wife and an 18 year old son and 16 year old daughter. This is probably the last holiday we'll have as a family so want to make it memorable. We're staying in Los Gigantes but have a car so can travel round the island. Any suggestions?
Up to top of mount Tiede by cable car - spectacular views across to the other islands. The surrounding lunar landscape (Dr Who etc film there) is worth exploring too. The drive up from the west side of the island (Los Cristianos) is almost Alpine.
Any proper mountain bike hire available for a bit of downhill on Mt Teidi?
See what you mean about the alpine roads. I've just checked out TF21 on Google maps which goes from the airport to Los Gigantes Shame we've only Peugeot MPV.
Whale watch boats from Los Cristanos are good for wasting a few hours. Puerto de la Cruz in the North is quite nice for a relaxing stroll as you have a car... Waterpark and Dolphin show is good fun in Playa De las americas.
