Hi Everyone, i'm having a problem with the stereo in my Dads e32 735i se.

It had a Pioneer cassette player when it was purchased but it started to distort after a few days, so i put a Becker cd player in and its just the same, is this a known problem at all or do i need to find a new amplifier. its getting a bit annoying now.

The audio comes out really quietly so you have to turn it right up to hear it, by which time the head unit is distorting the audio, so you get some quiet distortion. Not really much use. i might try to get bit to make an adapter out to cut the ap out to find if that works.

Any ideas anyone, thanks?

Sound like a amp problem. If the headunit that you are using has a built in amp then wire the speakers directly to the headunit to check it, the speakers maybe toast also.

Yeah that's my thinking. I might try to get another or wire up the 2 plugs to pass the audio on without the amp, not sure if that will work though so might try to get another amp from ebay.

Cheers.
