My insurance is due soon and when I renew I would like to cover my mods. Like Harry and Jez I have spent a fortune on my car and couldn't afford to start again if the worst happened. Has anyone done this?

As you know we have only had minor mods but as insures were going to add almost £450 on top of our premium. Try Sky insurance. They do the like for like cover you'd be after and they were the most competitive we found. It was close though between Sky and A plan. Elephant were only prepared to cover mods to the value of £500 yikes which was no good for us and would be useless for you Wormus.

Thanks Mel, I'll give that a try. I also found this: www.emodifiedcarinsurance.co.uk/ who are part of the same group (eBike) who cove my bike. They were very good when dealing with my claim and you can manage your policy on-line so I might give them a call also.

Admiral and Elephant (sister companies) have been consistently the cheapest I have found, but it depends on the extent of the mods. Mine are relatively mild.

They have a tick box menu you can select from on line.

I used to be covered by them but they don't cover heavily modified/supercharged cars.
