Cigars and whisky
Discussion
Had a rare warm day up here so I set about cutting the field (it's about 3 acres of farm grass) with my stiga. Lit up a Montecristo no. 2, had a couple of cold beers and had a thoroughly pleasant couple of hours.
Here's one for the whisky drinkers though:
I love whisky and I do enjoy a nice cigar too.
Cigar and beer? Yep.
Cigar and coffee? Yep.
Cigar and rum? Yep.
But not with whisky, I find the heat of the cigar kills my palate and what left is overpowered by the taste of the cigar.
I'm not really knowledgable (or experienced) about cigars.
Any views on this? Do any of you smoke and have a dram at the same time?

I'd suggest an Islay malt ie Lagavulin, Caol Ila, Laphroaig, Ardbeg or Bowmore would suit a decent cigar.
Ding and verily dong, my good sir. Caol Ila and a good cigar and all is well with the world. Both taken in moderation so as not to spoil the palate for the other.
(I think I have worked out what I want to do with the evening now.
