VXR8 Auto's

Just been out for a ride in Kaw's today, and I've got to say, I'm more than impressed with the six speed auto and the tiptronic feature.

Having cancelled an order the other week for a manual, maybe it's back on the cards, if there any auto's left?

I think Forest Gate Vauxhall have a couple of autos left (£22.5k)

Were you at the wheel? Has he managed to have his box mapped yet? Nothing wrong with the auto at all, not sure why it has such a bad press. The tap up tap down is great too, you can force changes pretty much just how and when you would do in a manual because there's no kick down and mine is now super easy to drive in traffic.

Its a 6L80 - which i carried out a little googling on yesterday. Initially I thought that it was a 6 speed 4l80e - which is a stout box (being largley based on the venerable TH400). But it would appear that its not that stong and only capable of around 400ft-lb - which doesn't leave much fat in there for a supercharger.
I suppose you could always bin it and actually replace it with the 4L80e!

4l80 and 6l80 are the same basic size. There is also a 6l90 fwiw.
There is a discussion on ls1tech about the strength of them and guys are running over 500rwhp (US) with them ok.
But that seems to be about the most. So Bolt on blower installs should be fine maybe with a tune up for firm the shifts etc.
