Hi,
can anyone recomend a supplier or fabricator for an alloy or stainless steel fuel tank for a 1600M?

Thanks.

Thanks Neil,
I should have said that I was really after an alloy tank, but might buy a stainless one if push came to shove.

Cheers.

stainless is better and longer lasting than alloy. it also deforms better in a rear end shunt.

Neil, if I was being sensible I'd agree.
But I'm seduced by the small weight advantage as the M-series is far too heavy compared with my Vixens!

Cheers.

A number of years ago Ian Bannister was getting alloy tanks fabricated, don't know if he still has the contacts.

I can forward you a CAD drawing of the original and a larger capacity version of the tank if you like.

The offer is open to anyone.
I grabbed it somewhere on the internet a while back.
That makes it shareware, right?

Lots of suggestions, cheers.

Tvr_owner thanks for the link, great prices. Have you any experience of their work?

Slow I think I already have the CAD files somewhere, don't remember where I stole them from either!

I'll let you know how I get on.

Cheers

Spoke to alloy racing fabrications, they quoted a reasonable price of £200ish but have a lead time of around a month.
Unfortunately I don't have a month!
Looks like I'll have to raid the piggy bank and speak to the dreaded DG.

Cheers.
