Quick straw poll:

Taking into account re-sale value, price, and owner usage over the next 2 years; what do you think I should buy;
An OEM Lambo Sat Nav (with ipod integration etc) at £2.6K or a more advanced Kenwood Sat Nav @ £1.4K

I have had differing views - i was going to go for a Kenwood but a number of car audio folk have told me re-sale will be higher/easier with a OEM one (and in the same breath say the OEM one is rubbish in comparison)

So, if you were buying a 4 year old gallardo would you prefer the official factory fitted Lambo Sat Nav or a more 'advanced' Kenwood (http://www.extremeaudio.co.uk/products/kenwood---dnx7240bt/283/)

I'll go with the answer that reaches 5 replies first! KENWOOD or OEM?

If the Kenwood is better (and cheaper) that's the one I'd go for. I too wouldn't be put off buying a car because the sat nav wasn't OEM.

On a car such as a Gallardo, I doubt it will make much difference to resale (especially if you are selling to a real driving enthusiast) and so I would go for the better Kenwood unit.

Pioneer. The new one is probably the best on the market

5:2, non-oem wins....

I did speak to someone about the audi version, but they said its not a like for like swap over and the outer-frame would need to be made up and therefore as expensive as the kenwood...

many thanks to all for voting.

This, or the Kenwood. A simple explanation as to why you chose the better product to a prospective purchaser should more than satisfy any concerns.

I wouldnt think getting a small frame made up should be too much of a problem.

I don't see why you would buy a sub standard, more expensive unit though
