05/06 Focus. 1.6 or 2.0 petrol??

Looking for new car for the missus. Are there any issues I should be aware of with the 1.6/2.0l petrol engined models?? At what mileage do things start to fall off? Cambelt changes and service intervals??

Any info would be handy

Have a look here for a list of the most common issues. Foci usually do well in reliability surveys and I don't think that either engine has any common weak points. Servicing is usually once a year or every 12k whichever comes first. Cambelts usually are recommended to get changed at 5 years of 60k or so. If the car is for your missus than the 1.6 would probably suffice.

Regarding at what age bits start to fall off, well they shouldn't if my old focus was anything to go by which I recently sold (114k, 10 years old and not one problem in all that time).
