regrefully they are not one of the better units, hence the lack of reviews.

All these units, (ive had snooper RA and B2) rely on the integrity of the database for accuracy and sadly its very lacking in these units.

Atleast with RA and B2 you get DS2 sites included and you have laser detection, or add a blocker on either.

If it was me I would take it back!

DS2's are truvelo aren't they? if so - the S6R has them listed allegedly...

(just bought one too btw)

The only prob is it doesn't have the locations of scamera van haunts on the db - but you can add your own alerts to the unit so I'll be driving round where I've seen vans before, and adding the locations of them to it's memory...

It would be interesting to get the map off the unit though... l33t hax0ring of the download phonecall methinks hehe!

Oh and the RLD unit does have laser detection - hence the name - RLD: Radar Laser Detector!

I've got an S6Rneo (what does the neo mean?) and its fine when its in my TVR. Locks on in seconds and laser/radar works as expected but radar will pick up microwave burglar alarms.

BUT

I fit it in my Clio.
Its crap.
It does not lock on in London at all except for the odd blip. In the sticks it loses track every GATSO you know is there.

Aerial sh!t for metal cars then?

How much for external aerial for tin commuter box?

And would that work?

But.............Its sh1t hot in the TVR!

If its a new clio (last 5 years) it may have a metalised screen , place the ariel on the roof and try it

Just popped down to Halfords (Staines) to see if I could get one at half-price (cracking deal at that price).

They had 1 left in stock, but the system was showing full price (£499), but they had the offer on display - half price £249. Unfortunately the offer also said "Boxing day only". The supervisor/manager (real stroppy git) refused to do anything as it clearly said boxing day only, and it was not boxing day.

Came away with nothing

Thanks for the feed back, hope to fit the R6 into my company car if I can find a good location
(new job starting in the new year and
will be travelling about 20,000 per year).

Mcspreader, is it much of a job to transfer the unit from one car to an other ?
I also have a TVR and would like use it in this car at weekends.
The company car will be a 3 series BMW will this also have ametalised screen ?

Get a dash mount bracket Or vent mount frpm either www.dashmount.co.uk or www.brodit.co.uk and mount the bracket onto it so you can slide the S6 on and off , i dont think bm use the metalised screen , its mainly on french cars ,
hard wire your power in off of an empty relay holder , check with a multimeter

As your getting a saloon mount the GPs ariel on the rear shelf and run the cable forward to the unit
