Looks pretty good too!
Interestingly, I read that the software will also work on first generation iPhones and iPod touches via an alternative Tomtom hardware kit that will contain its own GPS receiver.
All of western Europe = £79.99
UK & Ireland = £59.99
Im not sure what the hardware kits will cost though..

Rumour is that to get the dock for your car will cost a further £50-£60

huh? What is copilot? Tomtom don't appear to make it. Maybe you need to start a separate Copilot thread?

Yes, I read something along those lines also. But it appears there will be 2 kinds. 1 of which will have its own GPS receiver built in. No doubt this will cost more..

Plus the iPhone 3GS GPS is shocking. (I have one)
And you can't have tomtom on while making a call.
All in all, buy a stand alone tomtom unit..

Copilot looks pretty useful. Why is the north america version cheaper than UK...

Hmmm....I'm not so sure about TomTom any more.

It's €99.99 for the Western European maps and this doesn't include the hardware. Navigon includes all the Western maps plus the Eastern ones too (highly useful as I live in Austria), for €79.99.

Plus once you've paid for the software, there's another €129.95 to pay for the cradle!!! That's €230 all in and hardly good value!!!!!

I'm severely disappointed! frown

It's either navigon or a dedicated GPS unit with bluetooth so I can hook my iPhone up wirelessly I think......

Until the iPhone can run more than one app at once, what's the point...? As soon as you answer a call the nav goes up it's own arris. Buy a separate nav from Lidl or Aldi for about 50 quid and use the iPhone for making calls and fannying about...

It can - Apple just won't allow it for most (read non-apple) apps.

I guess the call will come up, tom-tom will save state information and when the call is finished the app will restart and try to work out where it is.

If there was a turning there, you've missed it.... frown

Suspect I'm looking at co-pilot and an 8 quid ebay cradle.

How gash is that...? I'd take the following:

£50 with UK and Western European mapping. Simples.

I use Copilot on my HTC - I like it, not much really to report - it just works.

Just incase anyone is going to buy this, Clintons are currently doing 2 x £15 iTunes vouchers for £20, effectively bringing the price down of TomTom/ Navigon to £40 or Co-Pilot to £20. Link here - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/462141/2x-15-itunes... Likely to go out of stock quickly!

Likewise, seems very good value for money compared to the others.

Got it, like it, still needs work - safety cameras/custom POIs/colour schemes etc.

But still, good. I like the IQ routing. It's finally worked out that the M1 is a bag of spanners for getting from Teesside to Potters Bar.
