So my car is currently running grade 6 NGK's I am thinking of going to a grade 7 prior to a small hike in boost pressure. Can anyone tell me the correct NGK or equivalent part # please?

On my TVR I just changed the number (higher number = cooler with NGK) and kept the rest of the part number the same.

Here you go Terry,

I'd second what Peter says. Go one grade cooler (7) and probably keep the rest the same. Watch for fouling though. I've used projected nose types before which were ok in a turbocharged rover. Also make sure the threads don't intrude into the chamber wink

Thanks guys,
I had tried inserting a 7 instead of a 6 in the part number but no luck. I will dig through the info thanks Mike.

Current plugs are NGK BPR6EF

Try looking to change the last letter in field 5. Maybe there's a P for platinum available? They'll last a lot longer to. I see you've already got projected nose type.

Cheap plugs will work but not last as long. I'd stick with NGK but avoid those Champions like the plague smile

What sort of plug do you want ? normal copper, platinum, iridium ??

Im using crappy BCR8ES at the minute....why crappy ? They are listed for RS Turbo's !!!

Dont get hooked up on numbers. If there's a 7 in there somewhere, and its not some really obscure fitment, it'll work.

I had good luck with the NGK IX Iridium plugs on Supra's (as opposed to the Denso IK which had a habit of breaking up). I may try a set and see how it goes.

When I was on 7's, I just used PFR7B, that I'd normally fit in Subarus.

Pricey when there are 8..

But some places do sell them cheapish.

Problem with using iridium's when experimenting with heat ranges is that they cost a fortune. I would use normal plugs until you find the correct range - or just stick with standard plugs and change them more often.
