Decided it's time to move on and try something else, hopefully a F355 all being well. Put the Tamora up for sale 2 weeks ago and I haven't had a single call or email on it. Realise I might have aimed a bit high with the price, but you don't know if you don't try!!
Is there anything else I'm missing in the ad, or is there anything else I should be doing to help promote it. Out of interest what kind of price would it fetch in the trade if I’m unable to sell it privately?

If its any help, some might be put of that you seem quite ridgid in your price, no room for offers ect. I just bought a Tam last month that seemed quite over priced £16500 for a 51 plate and 30k on it but the add said he would listen to offers, so we came to a deal that suited us both. if i was you i would change your add, and include sensible offers and Maybe a cheaper PX plus cash. Even if you dont want to keep a PX it may well be a car that is much easier to sell in this climate as a Tam is definately a luxury.Put that you only want to be contacted by email, that way you dont have to listen to the idiots that try to take the p-ss.
£18'500 for a relatively low mileage 2004 is IMHO a steal. You've had it up for only 2 weeks, theres never a huge market for these cars at the best of times so you can't really expect the phone to be ringing off the hook.
When I sold my Chim last October I went 4 weeks without a single call before then getting over 6 in a week with the first viewer buying her for nigh on asking price. Summer is a hard time as most people are concentrating on holidays etc rather than buying niche sportscars.
My advice would be to sit back and wait as long as you're not desperate, thoguh do remove the wording about the offers and stick with just selling the car.

Your car is either up for sale or it's not. If you say you don't care whether you sell it or not then you're giving the impression that you are not serious and as a buyer that would put me off straight away. And the fact that you've said that AND reduced your price makes you look disingenuous.

For me the advert is waffling on about stuff that will bore the reader, you should stick to the facts about the car. You have not said anything about the colour! is it moonraker black or mystic pearl black? what about service history, is it full leather, does it have aircon? wheels/tyres, has it been kept inside or outside. these are important issues. Also the pictures look like the paint work has a lot of swirl scratches. I would suggest new pictures after using a good canuaba wax (probably spelt wrong 
) that will really show off the paint.

Personally, I think if it is a 2004 car and not a 2004 registered 2003 car, then its cheap at under 18K. 51 plate cars have been selling for mid 16s so why so cheap if no need to sell?
Thank you for all your feedback. I will now amend the advert following your suggestions. Now I've read it back after reading all your thoughts it does come across as a little confusing. Do I want to sell it or not? I suppose I've written it like that as in the past when I sold cars, I've had people come to me with silly offers and I'm just trying to put that off happening. Also I genuinely love the car and enjoy it, thus why I've said I wouldn’t be too upset if it didn't go!! But you can't be sentimental about cars and I want to move on and try something different!! Life is too short, thrust me I know it better than anyone doing the job I do.

Yours is not helped - being a less less than desirable model (Tip)....sorry but it's most folks second choice.
TVRs fit a different bill, not many nice cars on the market and quite a few folk looking for nice late cars as there are no new ones available.
Sometimes its better to understand the market before commenting so aggresively.

Williams Tam looks very sensibly priced to me.
I'll come at this from a different angle... For the past month I have been regularly skimming the ads (Tam, Cerb, Tuscan & Chim....I cast a broad net, more likely a Chim though!), with the goal of potentially buying a TVR in the next few months...
Whilst this is a little out of the top of what I would be willing to pay (and fairly so I might add, i.e I think it is a fair price) I still had a good look at the ad.
The comment about not being worried whether it is still there in 12 months did stick in my mind, but not because it was a sort of aggressive/I don't care statement, but more so reinforced an element of attachment to the car. If I was looking for a Tam and had those funds available it wouldn't have put me off. Maybe that collection of words I just typed makes sense... unlikely though

Privately selling cars is such a pain... who blinks first, the person watching the ad for weeks waiting for the price to drop, or the nervous seller who is worried it won't sell and drops the price!

I would put it on Autotrader, I never new about Pistonheads when I was looking for a TVR until after I bought one so the more advertising you do the better the chances of selling it. But you will get timewasters from Autotrader.

I am having bother selling mine, when the advert was first in the classifieds I had loads of interest but i emailed people to say it was sold , and then the buyer dropped out due to employment problems. Since then I have had a lot less.
I know it is a condition inspected car but the price definatley reflects this and it is good condition been well looked after and has very low miles.
