Hi All,

Does anyone know of a beach in Sussex or maybe dorset that you can drive onto and is reasonably quiet/remote?

It's not for mucking about purposes, more something Mrs W wanted to do, take picnic, watch sun go down type stuff, would have 4x4.

Cheers!

I THINK you can do this on Camber Sands, as to it being remote/quiet is another matter though, you can get lucky though.

I've not stopped there for a while so don't know how busy it gets, but Herbrand Walk (it's actually a road)- between Cooden Beach and Normans Bay rail stations in East Sussex allows you to park off the road and right on the beach.
And there is always the Cooden Beach hotel nearby for a cold one - if your own beer gets too warm.

Camber Sands is pretty remote, but it's not quiet.

One of the few sandy beaches in SE England assures it's
usually pretty busy and it's half an hour or so
from the nearest motorway (Ashford).

Suggest Winchelsea Beach - no facilities so it's quiet and the coast
road is beside the sea wall, so only a ten yard stagger over the wall
required to get on the beach.
