tuning E320cdi 2001 to 300bhp ?
Discussion
im going to buy a E320 cdi saloon as i cant afford a tvr chimaera at the moment i want more performance from the engine hopefully 300 bhp can it be done, whats the best way to do it and what would the costs be. i have about 4 thousand to spend on the engine alone does anyone know of a mercedes engine tuner close to norfolk i will also be fitting AMG wheels lowered suspesion ect, can i also fit a dump valve ? thanks in advance for replys john
At the risk of ruining a perfectly good car, have you driven the standard car to see if you are happy with the performance? Trying to achieve 300bhp just because it sounds like a nice round figure probably isn't the best way to tune your car, you need to think more about what you want, driveability, torque etc etc. And a dump valve, don't they make that ridiculous woooosh sound inbetween gear changes, that's going to sound a bit chav on an E Class isn't it?
Don't mean to sound so unhelpful, it just seems an odd choice of car to modify (E320 instead of a TVR, you couldn't get a more chalk and cheese combination), drive it first, the E320cdi probably isn't the best choice of car for rock hard suspension, noisy valves and exhausts etc.
