Hi all,

We are at Silverstone for a track day middle of next week. Just realised that it's the south circuit.

What's the set up there like as it's all a bit remote from the paddock/pits and will we have a good day (I know the answer to that one already)

There is an area of hardcore which is the "paddock" area, no tarmac and no garages. You can just about jack up on the hardcore, but I prefered to find a quiet bit of tarmac access road and jackup there for swapping tyres.

Take a coat/brolly/sunscreen as it's a bit exposed. That said there is an indoor area with cafe/toilets/breifing room and merchandise shop. So you'll be well enough catered for, except for the lack of tarmac or garages in the paddock.

I'm thinking about entering my Caterham but can't make my mind up about the circuit. You Tube video's suggest it could be a power circuit and I don't really want to be running around at full revs all day long.

Any experiences?

I did it in my Evo but there were a number of 7-type cars there that day. Silverstone is a very wide track, so I think it would tend to favour high powered cars, but that doesn't mean you wont enjoy it in your car! One of my favourite things about Silverstone, though, is the huge runoff on most corners.
