Round the world (gap year) travel insurance

My son is about to embark on a 'round the world' trip for his gap-year.

He leaves the UK next month and travels to India, Australia, New Zealand, Honduras and the USA - before returning to the UK.

Anyhow, our current travel insurance won't cover him (it only lasts 90 days) and was wondering if anyone has any tips regarding what travel insurance companies give decent cover at a fair rate.

I booked mine at the same time as my round the flight with Flightcentre.com, looks like the actual insurance policy is with cover.more travel insurance. Looks as though it covers most sports etc, and for a year it cost me just over 250 quid.

Might be worth checking out money supermarket or a similar site to see who looks cheapest?
