I'm finally going the take the plunge and fork out on a nice watch (or 2).

As a motorsport fan there's a few I like, but I have been considering these two. I like them & they're below my £1000 total budget?

Advise / comments please........

TW Steel 45mm A1GP

TAG F1 Chrono

Any other recommendations?????

Oris (BMW) or Christopher Ward's new C40 Speedhawk automatic chrono (no motorsport link, but half your budget !).

I'd considered the Oris BMW range but in order to try and get 2 watches for the budget I'd be pushing it as the ones I like in the BMW range are the more expensive ones (unsuprisingly!) - I'd been looking in Jura's web-site for prices.

As for the C40 Speedhawk, it looks mighty impressive. A nice size, weight, good detailing etc and could be a welcome addition. Have you got one / seen one in the flesh Douglas??

I'm afraid not. They have not been out long. There is a thread on here about it, maybe someone has taken the plunge and can give you more detail on the finish and accuracy. Considering the movement, it has a very good price.

Have you had a look at the Tissot MotoGP watches. They usually have some on Amazon.

Great watches, but I'm not a 2-wheel man frown - One in each corner is far safer thumbup

Right I've now ordered the TAG and as I'm approaching my 20years long service award at work I've got them to put a couple of hundred towards it, so now what for the second watch?

Now I've seen it I really like the Christopher Ward C40 Speedhawk Auto Chrono now ahead of the A1GP 45mm TW Steel, what do you all suggest??????

I'm still however open to other suggestions.........

For about 500 quid I'd be looking at a Stowa Marine.

Maybe a bit dressy compared to your two original suggestions though?

I know what you mean...

I've really like the plain, simple, un-complicated lines of dress watches, but right now I need a bit more 'bling' if that makes sense or isn't too common on this particular thread???

If you want the Motorsport theme, Christopher Ward have a eeven newer than the Speedhawk range that only went on the website yesterday. Themed around various Grand Prix's. Maybe not everyone's tastes but I like them.

I'm not your man in this case. Put my Monaco back on yesterday after a few days of a Seamaster and found the Monaco a bit fussy! biggrin

I bought the newer model black faced Oris (Williams but very discrete) for £600 when my Rolex Sub went for a service. Now the rolex is back but oddly now prefer wearing the Oris....

Great quality and a bit different. Like the glass back and distinctive face - to me it feels like any other £1500-£2000 watch and is perhaps a notch above a more obvious TAG or Carrera.Slightly rarer too given few dealers stock them.
