You have to completely strip the seat to get to the lumbar support. When you do it is a flat rubber bag made of very heavy rubber.

I would be rather surprised if it is the bag its self that has a leak, I think it is far more likeley to be where the tube enters the bag. You can re-crimp the tube if you are carefull - a good smear of cycle repair cement helps. If it is the bag then bycicle repair may work though it will probably blow out eventualy.

That crimped fitting looks a likely culprit.
Could I get to it with the seat in place?
Not a hope I am afraid. The whole of the seat back has to come off and there is not enought height to do that with it in situ.Could I get to it with the seat in place?
I wouldn't be too quick to assume it is that joint though - there is not much strain on it - try inflating the support fully with the bulb and then immersing the bulb and tube in a jug/bucket of water. You may well find that the leak is where the tube, valve and bulb meet. Mine was.

The lumber support is a doctors blood pressure cuff.
Interesting to get your hands on those replacement parts.
I think mine were a good deal more rigid than a blood pressure cuff - the rubber is fabric reinforced and each sheet is over 1mm thick making the whole bladder about 3-4mm thick and quite solid. Interesting to get your hands on those replacement parts.

Thats said, its a good idea for a replacement - particularly of a leaky bulb. Readily available from fleabay for a very modest tenner.
