Morning,

Last night my car (brabus Roadster) was knifed all the way along the drivers side. The scratches are cut into the black plastic in some places

Do you guys know of anyone in the south (portsmouth) who would be best to look at the car?

Do you think a body shop is best over a scratch repair company?

Any recomendations? Also had my GF car done and 1 other in the street. (there was only the 3 of us parked on the road) I am sooo annoyed as im trying to sel the car and the last thing i want to do is pay out to get it back to what it was.

Thanks in advance

Not in Portsmouth, but I heartily recommend Jarvis in Beovis Valley, Southampton. Their spray work is very good. They are also the only shop I know who will attempt to match your paint, rather than just spraying with the appropraite paint code.

Thanks mate,

Hopefully it will just be a case of a quick touch up and not a replace. either way its very frustrating!

Mate, dont forget to go about getting a camera installed! Remember you got someone walking around with a knife who isnt bothered about knifing a car so what else might that extend to? Needs to be locked up!

True! i know the police cant really do anything but he didnt seem to bothered by the fact that someone with a knife is walking around. i did stress to him it was a knife that was used but he kinda shrugged it off.

so annoying!

If memory serves me right there is a place called City Cars in Romsey (Hants), they specialize in Smart cars, they could be a good starting point. Ask for either Paul or Dave.

Best,

Andy

Hi All,

Just thought i would give you an update. after showing the car to a few places smart repairs and body shops i have made a decision.

Most of the smart places wouldn't touch it so i have decided to go the body shop route and that whilst they are re painting one half of the car they might as well paint the other side.

So due to some a-hole i am now having the car redone....

on a plus note the car will look pretty but on the downside im spending money on a car im also selling but at least it will look awesome.

Have you actually looked into the price of new panels? Some of the colours are reasonably cheap.I have also seen some shocking paint repairs on the Smart plastics. The door panels are notorously hard to get done properly, as the removel/fitting process of the door plastics will involve bending it in the middle with your knee, thats usually when the paint comes off in one large slab!

Good luck

I did yeah and it was very hard to actualy find some in the right colour. plus the one door pannel i found was stupidly priced and had scratches on it...

so i hope all goes well.
