I need some advice please chaps. I have seen an imaculate 1968 bi-metal datejust. It is for sale in a reputable Rolex indipendant dealers. Another good watch dealer has also recomended this dealer to me. The problem is, on very carefull inspection i have noticed that at the bottom of the watch it does not have swiss made written. Did all Rolex's have "swiss made" written at the bottom or not? My second query is the strap. All Rolex's that i have seen have a little tab that you press to undo the strap, this jubile bracelet just has the Rolex crown at the very end of the strap that you lift up to undo it. The dealer said to me that it was an American strap and they were slightly different to our straps. He has offered to put in writting that the serial numbers and strap are genuine, and that they have been verified by rolex. As this watch is a 1968 model, i have not been able to compare it against another. Does this sound correct to you?

I have an early 70s datejust and in very small letters, right at the bottom of the dial, (need a magnifying glass) it just says T SWISS T. Also, the clasp is as you describe.

The one thing I like about an old Rolex is that it doesn't look like a fake!
