Fighting Torque 2009

Was a pleasure meeting everyone at FT2009 on sunday, was a good event albeit the poor attendance of only 38 cars as i was expecting at least over 50.
Another thing that i personally found anoying was the delay in time slips, but ill put that down to the organizers having a few hiccups with the timing gear or hardware.

If anyone has some video footage or personal pictures they would like to share then maybe we could paste a few links here as there are already a few floating around on youtube.If possible please paste links here along with any pics you may all have.

I was one of those that had booked a place but didn't get there.

Car rebuild over ran time, looking forward to next year now, may even have the manual gearbox in the Jaguar XKR by then

Hi Andy.

What power was the two Mercs pushing out please ?

Both mercs were a stage1,compromising larger crank pulley 180mm, non slip belt to stop the superchager from slipping,remap to help the increased boost "1.4 psi" and green filters.

Total bhp was dynoed on mine at approx 550hp and 590tq.

I keep finding myself looking at the 600 bi turbo cars. I'm trying to resist calling the dealer advertising the 04 plate S600 on here

Believe it or not, the 65 V12TT'S arent a bad buy either, your not the only one wanting to visit a dealer either.

With minor mods your looking at 700bhp, and ste loads of torque.

nice to meet a few of you, ive only just found this thread. i was the guy in the old golf turbo.. had a few good runs with a rx7 with the v8 in it, and a close run with the black amg merc

perhaps the feedback from last years shambles might have been the reason...and atleast you got time slips this year...

It was still very hit and miss this year - I didn't get half of my slips.

The poor turnout was probably because they didn't advertise the event AT ALL!!!

That and the blinkered adherence to the stupid noise regs which cut down the field even more...

Anyone have any decent pics of the subtly stickered Silver Griff ?


Reason being someone is doing a Griff calendar & i made the last one that was done with a Santa Pod pic alot of the material is static/arty & would rather get a bit of action in
