Ford Ka - Heater Blowing Hot Air
Discussion
Hi,
My girlfreind has a 1999 ford ka. After we bought it we noticed the heater was blowing only hot air as we were getting very hot. After reading on many forums i ordered a new heater valve and had it fitted however this hasn't solved the problem. At the moment we have just clamped the pipes to stop hot air coming through. Fan is working fine at all speeds and i have checked that the dial is connected properly by taking the steroe unit etc out....all seems to be working fine from that end as far as i can see.
Does any one have any suggestions as to what the problem may be? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Will

The 1990's Mondeos had a wire behind the dial that bent instead of pushing the cable into the sleeve. It leads to a lever on the box in the footwell. You can push this lever up and wire it and if you remove the fascia, you can straighten the cable and put a bit of oil on it. Just be gentle with it thereafter.
This is based on my Mondeo experience and I have no idea if the Ka is similar but in theory it should be.
