Rude Tiv drivers?

One of the joys of owning a TVR apart from the driving experience is surely a flash or a quick wave to another proud owner when trundling along.

Recently I have had around half a dozen different people not acknowledge me or even flash/ wave back!

The only thing they all had in common was they all drove Chims

Whats going on? Are Chim drivers no longer speaking to Tuscan drivers?

Perhaps an influxe of non-enthusiasts are now buying Chims?

Is anyone else getting this?

I havn't noticed this, always get a wave though they are a bit less common up here. Possibly they were too busy watching temperature gauges etc ;-)

I've encountered a Tuscan II driver who didn't even acknowledge my S even when he saw me. I'm over the moon when I see over TVRs out, which is quite a rarity to be honest.

I always get a wave, and send one back. Maybe the sun was in there eyes

Maybe we don't recognise the speed 6 cars with the bonnet down

Seriously though, I'll always give a wave, feel a bit of plum when I don't get one back though.

I flash and wave at TVR drivers when in either the Porsche or Skoda
They must be asking why?

So if you see the driver of a black Skoda/Porsche waving please say hi

More likely that you can's spot the wave because it's so dark in the cabin with the roof on

I must admit that sometimes I am a bit late with a wave / flash of the lights.

It's so rare that I see another TVR that I really don't expect it.

Sometimes there just isn`t time to respond ,I`ve missed the momment on occasions and felt quite bad after or maybe they were hanging on for grim death

I always wave .

In fact, at the Wet Grip/Trackday at Rockingham on Saturday (where there were lots of TVR's) - I had to smile because even though we were all at the same event, if we were in the cars and moving from one part of the grounds to another, we all waved if we passed!

Best to wave, regardless, I reckon

I very rarely see other TVRs but, last month I drove up to Glasgow from London to see my Mum and decided to take the slow route home by turning right at Chester and heading across north Wales.

I stayed overnight at a nice hotel in Conwy (wonderfully historic town, I thoroughly recommend a visit) and then took the A470 south towards Cardiff ( WOW!!, what a road!). I then turned right and stayed one night in a hotel in Carmarthen. The next day I drove home via the M4 to London.

This ended up as a 1'300 mile round trip and, though I never saw that elusive other TVR, enthusiasts in many other cars and vans flashed their lights on numerous occasions and beeped horns at other times.
Make up your own minds whether that was due to my driving- or what I was driving. I like to think the latter..

i always wave and flash my lights when ever i see any TVR. was down at goodwood the other week for soft top sunday, every tiv i saw i waved, flashed and got one back even if it wasnt a chim. there have been times when ive waved, flashed and got nothing back and i think bast##d you did see me, im the noisy red car with white stripes down the centre how could you possibly miss me. other times ive waved, flashed seen nothing and then seen in my rear view mirror a hand wave back. maybe they all wave but its just not long enough to be noticed.

Could be we don't recognise that wrist action as a wave.

Ok ok have come to the conclusion these chim drivers I speak of are obviously not on PH!

I always and will continue to do so...

And if anyone is driving through Epsom/ Kingston areas and some fella on a mountain bike sticks his thumb up, thats probably me on my way home from work

I live near Epsom so I'm going to start flashing and waving at mountain bikes. I'll apologise now to all mountain bikers if I wave at them in error.
