My lack of patience and technical knowledge is letting me down again!!

So my intravee and KCA-420i have arrived.
On a quick look tonight I've hit a few problems. Managed to get the boot lining out but:

Can't find/locate the cables that would of been used for the CD changer that I need. Apparently even if you don't have a factory changer I should still have the cables.

How do you feed all the cables (ones from KCA to the intravee) into the cabin? I've managed to get the tray from the center console forward but it's too wide to completely remove from inside the car. I'm guessing I have to drill through the tray?

This is what I'm looking at anyway

Any help?

TIA

In the roadster the only place I could fit it was where the factory changer / satnav dvd goes.

In the coupe, where does the CD changer or nav unit live?

In the centre console between the seats (where the Roadster has the manual roof release).

Yeah, member on Z4-forum but hoping for a winder audience here.
Plan to have the intravee in the center console as I believe it needs to be easily accessed for software updates. Guess mission one is find these cables! :-(

I'm assuming some of the floorplan is the same with the roadster/coupe - the CD changer wiring will probably be behind the panel in the photograph ? You may be able to reach in and grab the wires, you will be able to feel two separate wires, one with a thin plug, the other with a square plug.

You don't really need to update the Intravee that often, it should be stable by now.

Hi Gareth, had my intravee fitted for over a year now and theres no need to update it. The only cable you really need to run into the cabin is the I-pod lead from the alpine unit.

I didn't drill a hole into the centre console i just looped the long wire from the alpine unit over the back of the seat panel, and kept my i-pod behind the passenger seat. This made it easy to 'wake up' the i-pod because it would always go into deep sleep if i left it for longer than a day. ( easier than flapping around in the centre console. )

you'll love it though.
well worth the investment.

The wires your looking for are really short and are a pain in the butt to find . good luck not shredding your fingers !
