Stopping the leaking!
Discussion
Does anyone have any words of wisdom to try and stop my M leaking?
The front windscreen seals leak allowing water to dribble down the inside of the windscreen... the rear screen allows water in around the back edge where the water pools in the dip between the screen and the seal...
I when I installed the screen in the new rubber seal I made sure to apply some silicone to the gap, but due to movement in the shell and in the seals etc this does not seem to work too well.
Its so frustrating not being able to park the car anywhere incase it rains and fills with water...
What is the tried and tested method of keeping water out?

Are you using the correct rubber seal for fibreglass or a "metal" body seal. Using the wrong seal means it doesn,t "seal". I cant see the problem with taking the glass out and using the correct flexible silicon seal, Sikoflex or something similar. Always better with a fibreglass car to seal between body and rubber plus between rubber and glass. If you struggle to do it yoourself it is much cheaper to pay someone to do it properly than pay for new carpets, seats wiring problems and it will still be leaking. It is now virtually impossible to seal without taking it all out because any residual water will prevent silicon from working. You will need to remove glass and seal, dry everything thoroughly and replace using correct rubber if you dont have it and flexible sealant. Sorry there is no short cut
