Door Reflector - an alternative

As a temporary replacement for the door reflector until I can find one, I polished a section of aluminium that I cut and bent to the same shape as the reflector to cover the door panel retaining screw.

It was just going to be temporary, but I quite like the result, so have now changed both.

What's the bit on the back of the Leven unit... is it a bulb holder?... can you get them to light up?...interesting...

That question gets asked every time that pic is posted - it's just a bit of tubing it's sat on to show the whole unit with it's screws.

It looks like the lens is translucent with nothing behind it. If thats the case then it might not be a stretch of the imagination to put a clear LED behind it and run that from the interior light curcuit.

Love to try myself but some numpty's fitted both reflectors with bloody great woodscrews so I'd probably need to do a little more 'repair' work first....

Will make some... with a LED on the back see how they look.... and they can go on the internal light timer output as the draw will be small... Will post up when done....

Even better if you could find a half and half lens that fitted the spot, so a white LED could be used which would illuminate the ground and also give the red reflection . . ..
