Evening chaps, don't really need one, but I would like to know my average speeed etc
I did the 3 mile route to work which is a mixture of towpath and road in 9 minutes, which I make the average speed around 19 mph..
but I would like to know over a longer period.
Don't want to spend a lot of money, but what is out there?

There are tons around, mine was only a few quid. Works off of a magnet attached to the spoke and with a sensor on the fork. Try amazon or like chain reaction cycles website or something.
I had a cheap one like that which was fine during the day but my strobing front light sends it loopy!I got a Raleigh one from Argos, £9 (though it shows in the book as much more for some reason)
It's okay, but the LCD screen is a bit crap IMO, not easy to read with a quick glance and you have to have it at *just* the right angle or you can't see anything at all.
word of warning though, it can be very disappointing when you find your average is nothing like as high as you thought it was
