I bought some paint mixing cups on ebay last week (11th), it was a buy it now auction and i paid instantly. I've had the receipt from paypal and a note from the buyer (automatically sent presumably) saying they would be dispatched that day and delivered by the 14th.

Still nos ign of them though, and after numerous messages and emails to the seller I've heard nothing. It's an online shop rather than a single person, so I like to think it's not just a case of "he's gone on holiday and isn't available".

Am I wrong to think it's about time to start actioning something in ebay, or even leave negative feedback?

Too soon, a week is fair IMHO.

Was it a UK seller?

Start a dispute for an item not received, that should get the seller's attention. Seller protection only works if they ship within 7 days.

Why? Do you think the shops are run by magic elves that work 24/7, 365 days a year?

How long has it been since you first contacted the seller to inform them that the item hasn't arrived?

Bare in mind the problem might be with the Royal Mail, to give you an idea of the maximium time they can take to deliver first class you can't open a lost item dispute with them until 15 working days after the due date for the item.

If the problem was with Royal Mail then the seller would (or should) have said this, not ignored numerous messages.

I'm getting the same treatment from someone I bought a fish tank from, won on auction (for a low price - but one that isn't unreasonable) and have contacted twice to arrange collection of, with no response.

I'd give it until Monday.

Having a similar issue. Bought a brand new ipod docking station thingy from a UK seller last Wednesday, which got delivered Friday morning. Sadly they've sent the wrong one frown EMail them to sort things out, seller emails back nice and quick saying they have sent the right one, but leaving a telephone number.

After checking I've not been a tt and ordered bought the wrong bloody thing (I didn't!) I call them up, have a chat with some bloke and we establish they have sent the wrong one readit so he agrees to get a courier to collect the wrong unit and he'll send me the one I've bought. Now, courier comes first thing Monday, collects the one I've been sent and buggers off! Gonna see if anything turns up tomorrow before considering the negative feedback option further shoot

Don't suppose THIS LOT could effect the seller? Maybe they have massive back log of 'I bought the thing I really needed really quickly of you today and it didn't turn up yesterday' emails and are trying their hardest to respond.

As per the above, even if there was a postal strike it doesn't stop him from replying to an email to that effect - it doesn't take that long to reply to a question sent.

I'd open a dispute before feedback. You can't ignore a dispute when you log into ebay.
