Evening all, I currently run a 944 Turbo - cracking car with plenty of go and great handling, but it just doesn't have the voice of a V8! Have always loved the Cerb but I'm 6'6" and I just can't seem to get myself comfortable in one. Does anybody have any sensible (i.e. not shortening my limbs :-)) suggestions e.g. different seat/seat mounts? Cheers, Ben

the cerb was designed around peter wheeler who was I believe 6'6 so it should be possible to move pedals seat etc without too much drama.

The pedals all have screw threads so they can be moved in and out

I'm only 6'2", but with a long upper body, so had similar issues. The standard seat can be bolted straight to the floor (i.e. you remove the seat runners and use the four holes in the floorpan) this lowers the seat by about 1.5"

I've since installed a racing seat which lowered it even further.

OK, thanks chaps I'll give that a try. But from what i remember it was the width around the knees that was the biggest issue. Is it easy enough to fit a smaller wheel?

As said above, your knees are too high, probably because the pedals are set too close and too high! Check that the pedal pads are screwed right down to meet the arms.

There would be a problem trying to change the sterring wheel as it has got buttons on for lights wipers hooter.

I am 6' 5". and I fit perfectly. on a track day my helmet touches the roof though...oh err missus!
as others have said... pedals adjust so your legs can go straight out.

When you lower the seat like this, is there any adjustability in terms of distance between the seat and the wheel? Or does the seat have to be bolted to the existing runner holes?

I know it will be fixed in place without the runners but I just wondered if there is any scope for adjustment before bolting it down.

Cheers

Again, I'm 6'5 and fitted comfortably.

However, the pedal box will have been set for the original owner, so some with feel a better fit than others.

Different seats will also make a difference. I think the later Cerb seats (2000 and later IIRC) were slightly higher than the earlier ones.

You can position it where you like, because you will be drilling new holes to mount it. If you do this make sure you spread the load out properly because it's easy to pull bolts out of fibreglass.

The rear bolts in the seat rails are fixed, because they go through one of the supports for the outriggers. You would have to re-drill the rails, but not that big of a deal.

I was fortunate in that the four holes in the seat lined up with the four holes in the floorpan (the front ones go through a metal chassis tube) which was about right for me.

With the race seat, I just used normal side mount brackets bolted to the floor, there would be some scope for fore and aft adjustment then.

One thing I found was the lower I had the seat, the more upright I could sit, making the steering wheel closer.
